There is wax in your crew’s ears.
You are bound to the ship’s mast.
Your weapons are securely stowed.
The ship slows considerably as you finish raising the sail.
You turn to the sirens and observe that four of them have surrounded a single sailor who gazes into their symmetrical faces with a mixture of horror and wonder. At close enough proximity, the combined efforts of the sirens penetrate his protections. Eventually, the sailor understands what he is missing. He drops the oar and desperately begins scratching at his ears to dig out the wax. Several seconds later, he blissfully smiles and relaxes in the siren’s music. Turning his head to take in the ship, he realizes that the other sailors are taking him away. He attacks the nearest sailors and attempts to dislodge the wax from their ear.
You watch with joy as the thralls overpower the rowing sailors. The more sailors are freed, the more there are to free other sailors. Soon, the starboard side of the vessel is liberated, and the rowing pulls the ship in a lazy circle. The sirens continue singing as their chorus charges to port and grapples with the remaining sailors.
Luxuriating in deep contentment, you watch as the port-side sailors transition from terror to joy.
The sirens place their mouths on the necks of the enthralled. With practiced teamwork, the quintet used the rhythm of the music to time their bites, ensuring the active singers never fall below a quartet. Your sailors collapse with smiles on their faces.
Due to the siren’s singing, you are incapable of making choices.
