You throw yourself overboard. When your head crashes below the ocean’s surface, the siren’s alluring music is drowned out by the peace of the deep ocean.
Spinning around underwater, you look up at the boat receding away from you. The stillness above you is interrupted by splashes of dropped oars and spurts of blood.
Eventually, you run out of air and risk returning to the surface. You can barely hear the sirens’ song, so you keep your wits, fill your lungs, and return underwater.
You fight your instincts and tell yourself that you need to stay underwater. Just as you can feel the first burns of betrayal from your lungs, there is a splash as another body falls from the ship. A siren, in the form of a mermaid, swiftly swims towards you. You remain motionless, hoping she hasn’t seen you, but the inhuman reflections of her eyes tell a different story.
You flail, but her clawed hand grabs your ankle and drags you further into her domain.
You are dead. The End.
